Green Things Come in Small Packages

While work continues on ECO Modern Flats, the architects and builders are taking some time to create a playhouse for charity. Modus Studio has designed the ECO Fort, now under construction by the able hands of ECO’s contractors, The H7 Group and Town Builders.  The ECO Fort will be auctioned in April to benefit CASA of Northwest Arkansas , an organization that provides trained volunteer advocates to abused and neglected children in our community.

The playhouse captures the modern lines and sustainable features of ECO Modern Flats in a pint-size package.  A mini-version of our vegetated screen and community garden, a steel cable trellis and steel raised bed planters will be the perfect place for green beans or climbing moonflowers.  Cedar screens and steel railings wrap a rooftop terrace, and a steel scupper directs rainwater to an integrated cistern.  Inside, light flows through large windows and a scattering of small colored glass windows. A photovoltaic panel provides electric power.
Sure, it’ll be fun for kids, but it could also be a great playhouse for a grownup.  The Brits are crazy for shedworking, creating tiny, detached offices in backyards. The ECO Fort could be the perfect place to launch your backyard business.  It could also be a great potting shed or art studio with a view. Just imagine having a glass of wine on the rooftop while overlooking your garden…
The ECO Fort might be the playhouse of your dreams, and through the work of CASA of Northwest Arkansas, your purchase could make a child’s dream of a safe and loving home come true. Don’t miss the ECO Fort at the Northwest Arkansas Mall from April 15 to 30.
